One small step for Scent & Sip

One small step for Scent & Sip

One giant step done!
I have made it through the funding process! What I expected would take one month at most has dragged on for five months.
Why? Because I believe in people.  I believed someone when they say my SBA loan will be processed in a week or so.  I believed when I heard that for a small fee I would receive guidance needed to secure the funding.  I believed in a potential partnership.  I believed over and over again.  Each time learning and using that to alter the outcome of the next conversation, relationship or opportunity.  Ultimately, the cost of each belief was time but I made it through to the other side.
The most important lessons I learned have been patience and perseverance.  Brush it off. Find another door to knock on.  Change the conversation.  No one will be invested in your business as much as you, even if you think they have something to gain out of the relationship.
In the coming days, I will start the 60-day countdown to opening my first Scent & Sip.  Am I dreaming?  I believe that I must be.
If you are thinking about starting up your own business I would be happy to share the details of who I worked with, what worked and what didn't. Be careful! There are far too many unprincipled people out there. Just post a comment and I will follow-up.
Cheers,
jen
